The rules for the Fantasy army of the game and the SciFi arm of the game have diverged more and more since the day the sci-fi game was invented. And while Age of Sigmar may have adopted a number of things that had long been true in the sci-fi Warhammer such as round bases, the rulesets have otherwise diverged quite considerably in many ways.
Summoning is the ability to bring new units to the battlefield, or bringing back units that have been destroyed, over the course of a game. This is done through the use of: Spells, such as those found on most Seraphon warscrolls, and many Death or Daemon warscrolls. These are cast in the same way as any spell in Age of Sigmar.
A big part of that is due to how broad and narrow some of the factions are in AoS. You can find some good stuff to build a warband of dwarfs, empire, some sort of elven faction, orcs, and undead. Those are kind of basic fantasy races. You will not find anything related to kharadon overlords, bonereapers, or other highly stylized IPs.
